Characterization results of all shortest paths interval routing schemes

چکیده
We give complete characterizations of the classes of graphs with uniform cost links which admit optimum all shortest paths 1 ? SLIRS (Strict Linear Interval Routing Schemes) and 1 ? LIRS (Linear Interval Routing Schemes). The characterization of all the other Interval Routing Schemes with uniform cost links that represent only a single shortest path is known to be NP-Complete. We also show that the class of graphs with dynamic cost links that admit optimum all shortest paths k ? IRS (SIRS, LIRS, SLIRS) are equivalent to the class of graphs with dynamic cost links that admit optimum single shortest path k ? IRS (SIRS, LIRS, SLIRS) and also equivalent to the class of graphs with dynamic cost links that admit single paths up to any constant stretch factor k ? IRS (SIRS, LIRS, SLIRS).

Multi-Dimensional Interval Routing Schemes
Interval Routing Scheme (k-IRS) is a compact routing scheme on general networks. It has been studied extensively and recently been implemented on the latest generation INMOS Transputer Router chip. In this paper we introduce an extension of the Interval Routing Scheme k-IRS to the multi-dimensional case hk; di-MIRS, where k is the number of intervals and d is the number of dimensions. Whereas k...
متن کاملMulti-dimensional Interval Routing Schemes
Routing messages between pairs of nodes is one of the most fundamental tasks in any distributed computing system. An Interval Routing Scheme (IRS) is a well-known, space-eÆcient routing strategy for routing messages in a network. In this scheme, each node of the network is assigned an integer label and each link at each node is labeled with an interval. The interval assigned to a link l at a no...
متن کاملOptimum Multi-Dimensional Interval Routing Schemes on Networks with Dynamic Cost Links
One of the fundamental tasks in any distributed computing system is routing messages between pairs of nodes. An Interval Routing Scheme (IRS) is a space efficient way of routing messages in a network. The problem of characterizing graphs that support an IRS is a well-known problem and has been studied for some variants of IRS. It is natural to assume that the costs of links may vary over time (...
متن کاملCompact Routing on Chordal Rings of Degree Four yLata
A chordal ring G(n; c) of degree 4 is a ring of n nodes with chords connecting each vertex i to the vertex (i + c) mod n. In this paper, we investigate compact routing schemes on such networks. We show a routing scheme for any such network that requires O(log n) bits of storage at each node, and O(1) time to compute a shortest path to any destination. This improves on the results of 16] which g...
متن کاملA Novel Protection Guaranteed, Quality of Transmission Aware Routing and Wavelength Assignment Algorithm for All-optical Networks
Transparent All Optical Networks carry huge traffic and any link failure can cause the loss of gigabits of data; hence protection and its guarantee becomes necessary at the time of failure. Many protection schemes were presented in the literature, but none of them speaks about protection guarantee. Also, in all optical networks, due to absence of regeneration capabilities, the physical layer i...
